Understanding Elementary Shapes: Triangles

Classification of triangles:  Triangles are classified based on angles as well as the relative length of the sides of a triangle.

Equilateral Triangle: When all the sides of triangle are equal. An Equilateral triangle is also called a regular polygon. It is because all angles are equal and all sides are equal to each other.

Isosceles Triangle: When ONLY two sides of triangle are equal in length.

On the basis of Angles can be classified as:

Acute Angled Triangle: If each angle of triangle is less than 90°

,then it is acute angled triangle.

Right Angled Triangle: If One angle in a Triangle is equal to 90°

, then it is called right angled triangle.

Grade 6 Mathematics Curriculum   In Grade 6, instructional time should focus on four critical areas: (1) Connecting ratio and rate to whole number multiplication and division and using concepts of ratio and rate to solve problems; (2) Completing an understanding of division of fractions and extending the notion of number to the system of rational numbers, which […]

Geometry Basic Elements:    A lot of the geometric shapes and figures you have learned thus far will eventually have formulas assigned to them as you delve into the world of algebra and more advanced geometry. In order for those formulas to make physical, geometric sense, they need to be placed in what is called […]

Addition and Subtraction of Algebraic Terms Addition in Algebra Let us understand this topic with an example. Mike has 20 more chocolate candies than Steve. Then exactly how many chocolate candies does Mike have? We shall denote Steve’s candies by the letter x. So “x” is a variable here. This can take any positive value. (because you […]
