Kapdec Marketplace Refund Policy

This refund policy applies to all services offered on the Kapdec Marketplace (the "Platform"), including hourly tutoring plans, subscription-based services, and one-time purchases. It outlines the terms for refunds and cancellations, as well as specific scenarios where refunds may not be granted. Both tutors and students (the "Parties") must comply with this policy, Kapdec’s Terms of Use, and the Honor Code.

Kapdec reserves the right to deny refunds for users found in violation of these terms, even if the refund request is made within the designated period. Refunds are also not granted for learners who fail to pass a course, specialization, or are dissatisfied with their grades. 1. Tutoring Services Refund Policy

When a tutoring plan is purchased, the tutor and the student enter into a legally binding agreement. The tutor agrees to deliver the purchased hours of tutoring, and the student agrees to receive the services as scheduled. Both parties are obligated to attend the agreed-upon sessions.

1.1. No-Show Policy

  1. If a tutor starts a session and the student does not attend, the tutor will be paid in full for the session.
  2. If the student attends a session but the tutor does not show up, the tutor is required to provide one (1) additional hour of tutoring beyond the hours purchased by the student.
  3. If the tutor and student mutually agree to reschedule, the no-show policy will not apply.

1.2. Approval of Paid Services

  1. Students must approve or dispute a tutoring session within three (3) days of its completion.
  2. If no action is taken within this period, the session will be automatically approved.
  3. Tutors are paid for all approved sessions once the tutoring plan is fully delivered.

1.3. Refund Conditions for Tutoring Plans

  • Once sessions commence, tutoring plans are non-refundable.
  • Students canceling mid-plan forfeit all prepaid amounts.
  • If a tutor cancels a plan, the student will receive a full refund, regardless of the hours already delivered.
  • Refund amounts exclude any transaction fees charged by third-party payment processors.

 

2. Subscription-Based Services

Kapdec offers both month-to-month and annual subscription plans. The refund policies for these services are as follows:

2.1. Month-to-Month Subscriptions

  1. Payments for monthly subscriptions are non-refundable.
  2. To avoid charges, users must cancel their subscription before the end of the free trial period.
  3. If a course is completed during the free trial, Kapdec reserves the right to charge for a one-month subscription to issue a certificate.
  4. Monthly subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled.
  5. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period, and no refunds are issued for unused portions of the month.

2.2. Annual Subscriptions

  1. Annual subscriptions, if offered, are non-refundable.
  2. To avoid charges, users must cancel before the trial period ends.
  3. Annual subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled.
  4. Cancellations after the trial period take effect at the end of the current billing cycle, with no partial or full refunds for the remainder of the subscription year.

2.3. Third-Party Marketplaces

  1. For subscriptions purchased through third-party platforms, such as the Apple App Store, refund policies are governed by the respective marketplace’s terms and conditions.
  2. Users must contact the third-party provider directly for refunds or cancellations.

 

3. Key Considerations

  1. Kapdec treats violations of its Terms of Use and Honor Code very seriously.
    • Refunds will not be granted to users found in violation of these terms, regardless of the refund request period.
  2. Refunds will not be granted for performance-related issues, including but not limited to:
    • Failing a course.
    • Dissatisfaction with grades.
