Decimals

Introduction

Students will understand the role of the decimal point and the relationship between tenths, hundredths, and thousandths at the conclusion of this lesson.

Objective

In this chapter students will

• Understand the concept of the parts of one whole by representing a unit by a block and further dividing it into parts.

• Say, read and write in numerals any given decimals up to three decimal places;

• Determine place value of a digit in a given decimal;

• Convert fractions to decimals and vice-versa and comparison of decimals
