The course framework outlines content and skills needed for careers in mathematics, physics, biology, health science, social science, and data science.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Skills\u00a0You\u2019ll\u00a0Learn<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Algebraically manipulating functions, equations, and expressions.<\/li>\n<li>Translating mathematical information between representations.<\/li>\n<li>Communicating with preciselanguage andproviding\u00a0rationales for conclusions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Equivalency and Prerequisites<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>College Course Equivalent<\/b><\/p>\n<p>A college precalculus course or a college algebra with trigonometry course.<\/p>\n<p><b>Recommended Prerequisites<\/b><\/p>\n<p>You should have successfully completed introductory algebra and geometry courses.\u00a0In particular, you\u00a0should be able to\u00a0demonstrate\u00a0proficiency\u00a0with linear functions, polynomial\u00a0addition\u00a0and multiplication, factoring quadratic trinomials, using the quadratic formula, solving right triangle problems involving trigonometry, solving linear and quadratic equations and inequalities, algebraic manipulation of linear equations and expressions, and solving systems of equations in two and three variables. You should also be familiar with piecewise-defined functions, exponential functions and rules for exponents, radicals (e.g., square roots, cube roots), and complex numbers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Course Content<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The course content outlined below is organized into commonly taught units of study that\u00a0provide\u00a0one\u00a0possible sequence\u00a0for the course.
